Pediatric

The Pediatric department delivers care for healthy and sick children whereby services include history taking , general examination , local examination , investigations ,assessment of growth and development , nutritional assessment , vaccination ,accident prevention and referral to other specialties .

Newborns should be seen weekly until 1 month of age. Subsequent follow ups should be there. Children between 3 to 6 years old should visit the pediatrician annually and every two years thereafter.

The Pediatric Clinic at Ultra MEDICAL CENTER offers comprehensive care for children from birth to 12 years of age.
We boast of two major services; a Well Baby Clinic and General Pediatric Healthcare. Through these services we foster quality healthcare to the children of Al Ain and the multinational community. Services are based on HAAD recommendations and highly recommended International standards.

Happy Baby Clinic

The first few years of the life of a baby are a time of rapid growth and change .You will have pediatric well child visits most often when your child is developing the fastest .Every appointment includes a complete physical examination. At this appointment , the doctor will tract the baby’s growth and development to ensure the child is meeting milestones .The doctor will record your child’s height ,weight ,and other important information .Hearing , vision, and other tests will be part of some visits.

Our Well Baby Clinic will regularly provide:

  1. Annual Check ups
  2. Vaccinations including rotavirus, hepatitis A and Influenza (including H1N1).

General Pediatric Healthcare

With the help of regular doctor visits, a pediatrician can often detect and address health problems before they become more serious.

In General pediatrics, we commonly treat:

  1. Follow up growth and nutrition of newborn and children.
  2. Management of anemia and blood diseases e.g. ; iron deficiency anemia , G6PD ,sickle cell anemia , thalassemia. Gastro intestinal problems in children. e.g.; abdominal pain, constipation, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, H. pylori infection.
  3. Respiratory tract diseases and childhood asthma. eg ; common cold, allergic rhinitis, cough, tonsillitis , pharyngitis , otitis media , asthma, pneumonia , bronchitis .
  4. Urological problems in children. eg ; urinary tract infection , cystitis , pyelonephritis, nocturnal enuresis.
  5. Management of fever in children. eg ; febrile convulsion and epilepsy.
  6. Treatment for vitamin D deficiency.
